Engineering task and calculation objective

The A431 calculation module is part of the module portfolio of the LV calculation software for apparatus and plant engineering. It provides a self-contained sub-calculation within the program family and is typically used in combination with the other modules of a calculation project.

As with all modules of the platform, the input data are entered in a calculation mask, the calculation is carried out according to the rules stored in the module, and the results are documented in a verifiable calculation report. Inputs, intermediate values, and results remain traceable, so the calculation can be used as part of the technical documentation.

Calculation workflow

  1. Enter the input data: The geometry, load, and material data required for the calculation are entered in the module's calculation mask. Design data already stored in the project can be adopted.
  2. Run the calculation: The module evaluates the stored calculation rules with the entered data and determines the result quantities, including all intermediate values.
  3. Check and document the results: The results are checked for plausibility and compliance with the allowable values and are output in a formatted calculation report for the documentation.

Frequently asked questions

How does the A431 module fit into a calculation project?

Modules of the LV platform can be run individually or linked into an overall calculation via the project module. Shared design data such as pressure, temperature, or materials are maintained centrally and passed on to the individual modules, avoiding duplicate entries and inconsistencies.

Are the results documented in a verifiable form?

Yes. The calculation report presents the input data, the characteristic values used, and the result quantities in a traceable manner, so that an inspector or a notified body can follow the calculation step by step.
